After years of designing and implementing operational and technical solutions internationally in both the private and public sectors, I transitioned my career to focus on working with civil society groups and socially responsible businesses. This shift led me to co-found and manage various organizations and initiatives, contributing to numerous projects and coordinating actions that raised local and international awareness of sociopolitical and sociocultural issues in the MENA region. Through media, arts, and culture, I aimed to foster dialogue and understanding across diverse contexts.
My work draws on a combination of the UN’s strategic "Communication for Development" principles and data-informed design-thinking frameworks. These methodologies have guided my efforts to support non-profit organizations, civil society groups, and related structures in the MENA region and beyond, all with the broader goal of contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Along this journey, I have provided interventions and contributions to think tanks, participated in roundtables, seminars, and discussions, and facilitated a range of training programs for private entities, governments, and international organizations such as UNESCO, UNHCR, UNICEF, WHO, NED, ABA, and GFMD.
In addition to these contributions, I have also conducted bespoke workshops on advocacy, multimedia production, and citizen journalism in various countries, tailored to audiences with diverse backgrounds and needs. Over time, I came to the realization that the principles and values I practiced in civil society—collaboration, innovation, and human-centered design—are universally applicable across all sectors and industries. Whether working with an NGO, a public-interest institution, a governmental entity, or a private business, I recognized that the same methodologies could drive meaningful outcomes, boost efficiency, and foster innovation.
This insight led me to adopt a holistic, value-generating approach to projects, with a focus on interdisciplinary innovation spanning technological, economic, entrepreneurial, social, and cultural dimensions. My passion for creating and developing new ideas and projects has fueled my involvement in a variety of locally based and borderless initiatives. Some of the projects I’ve proudly helped create and develop include Changium, MAC-CRV, SouriaLi, Comm4Good, Media & Arts for Peace, Vision for a Better Tomorrow, Network for Refugee Voices, Jamira, SINGA, and RAHMI, among others.
I’ve also volunteered with many organizations, always aiming to learn more while sharing my own experiences where possible.
Academically, I hold three master’s degrees in management information systems, business intelligence, and a fellowship in arts and communications. I am also an alumnus of several European, American, and international academic and training programs.
A multilingual French-Syrian, I am currently based in Bordeaux, France—when I’m not traveling the world.
